Wright attended Milford High School and graduated in 2018. Rodeo was not his only athletic interest during his school years. He also participated in football and wrestling, giving him experience in physically demanding competitive sports.

His early exposure to professional rodeo was particularly significant because of his family’s history in the sport.

Stetson’s brothers have also competed at the highest levels of professional rodeo. His family includes Rusty, Ryder, and Statler Wright, while his sister is Lily. His brother Ryder is also a multiple-time saddle bronc riding world champion.

The family’s rodeo legacy has been documented by CBS News, which profiled the Wright family and their large group of professional cowboys.

The Wright Family Rodeo Legacy

The Wright family’s achievements have continued across multiple generations. The 2026 PRCA Media Guide reports that the family had accumulated 18 PRCA World Championships, with Stetson accounting for 10 of them.

Interestingly, Stetson became the only member of the Wright family to compete in bull riding, while several other family members became known primarily for saddle bronc riding.

Stetson Wright entered professional rodeo in 2018. His rise was remarkably quick.

In 2019, his rookie season, Wright won his first PRCA All-Around World Championship. That achievement immediately established him as an important young competitor in professional rodeo.

He then continued his success in the following seasons, winning additional All-Around championships and titles in individual events.

His ability to compete in both bull riding and saddle bronc riding has been an important part of his career. Instead of focusing exclusively on one discipline, Wright has developed the skills necessary to compete successfully across two demanding events.

Stetson Wright World Championships

Stetson Wright’s world championship record is one of the defining parts of his biography.

According to the 2026 PRCA Media Guide, Wright has won 10 PRCA World Championships:

Six All-Around World Championships: 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2025
Three Bull Riding World Championships: 2020, 2022 and 2025
One Saddle Bronc Riding World Championship: 2021

His early run was particularly notable. PBR reported that Wright became the first cowboy in PRCA history to win three consecutive All-Around titles at the beginning of his career.

His 2021 saddle bronc title also added another championship to the Wright family’s long history in that event.

Stetson Wright at the National Finals Rodeo

The National Finals Rodeo (NFR) is one of the biggest stages in professional rodeo, and Wright has repeatedly competed there.

His performances at the NFR have included victories in both of his major events. In December 2025, Wright won Round 1 in both saddle bronc riding and bull riding on the same night. The NFR reported that this was the third time in his career that he had achieved that feat.

His 2025 NFR appearance was especially significant because he had missed much of the previous stretch of competition while dealing with injuries.

Stetson Wright Bull Riding Career

Bull riding is one of Wright’s two principal rodeo events.

Although many members of the Wright family became known for saddle bronc riding, Stetson developed a successful career in bull riding as well. PBR identifies him as the only member of his family to compete in the event.
